Last Sunday's hash in Tasik Biru is special for me in many ways:
1. It was my first hash ride for this year! Passed the one in Kiara as was afraid of trail congestion.
2. It was my first hash ride as a MEMBER of KLMBH! Think it makes more sense if I plan on riding more hashes this year. At RM15 per ride for guests, I recoup my RM70 membership fee in 5 rides.
3. It was my first time riding Tasik Biru! Scenic lake though I didn't really stop to enjoy the views.
4. It was my first ride on the Nomad this year! Time to shake the dust off and train my lower body (legs). Surprisingly the Nomad didn't feel as heavy as I'd expected it to be after all this while being spoiled by my 'feather-light' Yeti or the even lighter HT. May be there wasn't any occasions where I had to get off and push.
5. It was my first ride this year that I was faster than Simon Guinness! Despite his lighter wheels. He had one can too many of the black stuff the night before, so I was told. Plus he had a 'cha lat' time at Kiara too on Sat morning with our residential Kiara specialist, Gerard 'Cha Lat' Tan. Who wisely avoided the hash lest he ended up slower than Simon.
6. It was my first ride ever with a heart rate monitor! Glad to know I never hit maximum HR throughout the ride. May be I didn't push myself hard enough. Also surprised to find that my HR actually goes up when I am munching an apple. Happy to know also that I burnt 1,710 calories but added back more than 2,000 calories during the port-ride pigout.
7. It was the first time I'd ever heard of URUT BAWAH during lunch at a rather nice fishing place in Sg Buloh new village. Seems that's Choy's regular post-ride activity somewhere in Tasik Selatan. It got Dot all excited too and now she's hounding him for the contact number. Seems this kinda massage does wonder for ladies too. Unker Danny too is looking forward to the next ride at Tasik Selatan, if any.
8.It was the first time ever I had seen Tan Sri Bok holding a bottle (not a glass, mind you) of Guinness Stout. Vincent Chin has the photographic evidence. Wonder when he's gonna post on Facebook.
This coming Sunday we are riding Kiara and doing the 'cha lat' version by popular request. As usual meet 8.00am in front of KSH Bikes.
