Sunday M&D Ride - Sg PusuWe plan to ride Sg Pusu this Sunday, a destination that we have not been to for more than 2 years now! Adrian Chan rode it recently and from the pix he posted on FB, looks still to be a good ride. He made it to the Switchback at the peak of the Bamboo Trail but this Sunday we shall try to venture further to see if we can at least get to the first campsite, trail conditio...ns permitting. Otherwise we can also take the first branch off to another campsite where PCC last had a ride n camp and almost got trapped by rising waters the next day following a night of heavy rain. Those who were on the trip will remember how Simon Guinness' 60ft nylon rope saved the day for us! No way could we have crossed the river otherwise....
FEB 2003 Camp Ride |
Details as follows:
Date: Sunday 19 Feb 2012
Meeting time: 7:30am
Meeting place: Petronas/Shell & Burger King on MRR2 near turn off for Genting – Gombak (just off slip road to UIA)
Ride Distance: About 20km (if we push all the way to the 1st campsite)
Ride description: Great ride through a bamboo forest that leads us to a couple of campsites via ex-logging tracks. Be prepared for deeply rutted tracks and some serious climbing especially at the beginning and on the return journey. Reward is a great river by a nice campsite. Bring your usual trail food for a little picnic by the river. Carry at least a 2-litre water pack. More if you drink like Yong.
Directions: From PJ, head for LDP towards Kepong and get onto the MRRII in direction of Gombak. Continue past Batu Caves and go up the flyover towards Kuantan/Genting Highlands. A short distance further on you will see the Petronas/Shell petrol station and Burger King on your left just off the slip road to UIA. These are just before the turn off for Genting.
From Ampang, use the MRR2 from Ampang Point. Continue on through Melawati and past the turn off for Genting. Take the next turn off (you will see the Projet & Burger King on the right) turn off and U-turn to go back to the Projet.
No Helmet No Ride!
